Find out about the impact we made in 2024 - 2025

In 2024–2025, Healthwatch Hackney succeeded in amplifying the voices of residents and improving health and social care services across the borough. Through a record number of Enter and View reports, the organisation influenced service improvements in GP practices and mental health wards, including pioneering visits to acute mental health units at Homerton Hospital.

Over 3,700 residents shared 16,000+ issues

Feedback led to tangible changes, such as improved GP registration processes and enhanced patient communication. The People’s Feedback Panel flagged 189 issues, prompting service providers to act on concerns and celebrate good practice. The first paragraph needs to focus on the differences that came about due to your work in a little more detail than the lead paragraph. This section can talk about why and how these changes have made a difference to people’s lives. Try to keep one impact per paragraph.

Healthwatch Hackney continues to champion equity, empathy, and collaboration

With over 2,000 volunteer hours and nearly 1,000 residents supported through signposting, the organisation remained a vital connector between communities and care systems.

How our different project made a difference

The Father Friendly Borough Project engaged over 748 fathers, leading to new peer-led support models, WhatsApp bulletins, and inclusive service recommendations.

Meanwhile, the Learning Disabilities Quality Checkers project empowered residents with lived experience to assess and improve service accessibility.

Healthwatch’s System Influencers Programme saw 30 young people co-design seven impactful projects, from sexual wellness to mental health advocacy, building trust and inspiring future careers in health.

The Neighbourhoods Programme strengthened local engagement, producing detailed insight reports and supporting action groups to tackle issues like digital exclusion, childhood obesity, and mental health.

Through co-production, 44 public representatives contributed over 1,200 hours across 20 workstreams, shaping services with lived experience. Partnerships with over 30 organisations fostered inclusive, resident-led solutions.
