From talking to people about their experiences of health and social care, to writing reports, to updating our social media - volunteers are vital to our work. Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a regular commitment, we've got a volunteering role to suit you.
Current volunteering opportunities

- Engagement volunteers - To improve care we need to understand people's experiences of using services and support. That's where our engagement volunteers come in. From attending community events to going to Homerton Hospital for a local libary you will play a crucial role in listening to what people want from health and social care services.
- Communications volunteers - Do you love writing? Or perhaps you have a passion for social media? Our communications volunteers help raise awareness of who we are, promote our projects and surveys and create content for all our digital channels.

Comment Collection
Are you passionate about improving health and social care in Hackney? Do you enjoy connecting with people and making a difference in your community? Healthwatch Hackney is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us gather feedback and share vital health information with local residents.
As a Comment Collector, you’ll:
Attend outreach events and community venues to speak with residents.
Collect feedback on NHS and social care services.
Input data into our system and support other Healthwatch activities.
Training & Support
Full induction and ongoing training provided.
Family-friendly and flexible volunteering environment.
What You’ll Get
Travel and food expenses reimbursed (up to £7 each with receipts).
References after 3 months of volunteering.
A chance to build skills and experience in a community-facing role.
